![]() ![]() I finally get it to install then it tells me the iLok isn't working right, so I check the iLok account and my PT demo license expired June 1st 2012, so I try to get another license and I find out the rule is only one trial license allowed per iLok account. I just tried downloading the PT 10 demo again and the first attempt failed at 84 %, the second attempt finally worked (this is three hours later) it wouldn't install over the PT SE I had so I had to un-install that. Cakewalk was the way to go and believe me I look at them all in painstaking detail before making my final choice. especially when it comes to me dropping what little money I have into my studio crap. I am indeed becoming a Sonar fan boy but I am also extremely pragmatic about stuff. ![]() I like that and it shows in the final product. I think it's brilliant and to me it speaks of an extremely intelligent and hands on company. The more we talk the more they learn and the better the product gets. Not only does it provide a place for users to do a bulk of the tech support and testing it is also a huge resource in regards to market research. the fact the Cake guys set up this forum is pure genius. It can only serve to create better products. It keeps everyone on their toes and I'm sure the bakers have watched this thread to see where people's heads are at. The point is most of us here love Cakewalk but it is always good to have discussions about other platforms. well, I'd go to another studio that weren't stifled jagoffs. ![]() If a studio scoffed at me for sending them something I came up with in X1. ![]() I just hope my creations in X1 can be handled by the big boys on their fancy Macs and what not if I ever get called upon to step up to the plate. I liked Nuendo very much but I have no NEED for it nor the money to drop on it and I have no problems learning some new workflow techniques to make Sonar do what I like. I just view them all as different tools for a job. Believe me there is no love lost for Avid and PT with me. I also hate being forced into buying specific hardware. I'm lovin' Sonar and that $699 from PT would likely get you the PT equivalent of Sonar Essentials (if not less). ![]()
